NOTES FROM THE DRAMA DEPARTMENT
Jakki Saysell, Head of Drama/Theatre Studies
Witches of Eastwick
This week (3rd and 4th November) saw the performance of the IB Theatre Arts production of “The Witches of Eastwick”, an
adaptation of the book by John Updike and loosely based on the famous film starring Jack Nicholson. This was an
exciting, multi media production, put together by the students who rose admirably to the challenge of difficult material,
dealing with the subject matter in a mature and creative way.
The three “witches” (Luisa Kurtz, Melanie Ganz and Carina Mota) performed with energy and style as the three women
taken in by the wicked Daryl Van Horne, played with humour and charisma by Bernardo Lara. This was yet another
successful and ambitious production by the Drama students of The British School who are becoming a hard act to follow. |
