News from Stephan Arkcoll’94

In December 2009 we heard from Stephan Arkcoll, who left TBS in 1990, but would have graduated in the Class of 1994.

“I would have finished in 1994 had I remained in Rio.  My parents relocated to South Africa in 1990 and I have been living in Cape Town since then. I still have some family in Brazil and tend to come back for visits every couple of years or so. I just wanted to commend you and the team on a great Falcon – in our days we had an annual book which was published and I still have some copies stacked away at my parents’ home.  In particular this edition of the Falcon seems to bring back memories after reading Mr. Wiseman’s report on the spirit of the school award. I still remember the days Mr. Wiseman arrived at the school – my favorite teacher!  He gave us a slide presentation on Brunei and to the day I still remember what the capital of Brunei is… amazing. In my final year I received a book from Mr. Wiseman - an award for best Geography pupil, an award I have cherished since then. Please send my regards to him – I doubt he remembers who I am – seems like centuries since I was a pupil travelling on a 1 ½ hour bus trip from Barra to Botafogo on a school bus every morning! Keep up the good work!
