Tatiana got in touch with us at the beginning of the year. She was at TBS-RJ from 1986 to 1989, from Class 4 to Class 8, and then left for a Brazilian school. At that time, the school did not have an effective programme for children who wanted to stay in Brazil, so many of our students would leave at the end of Class 8.
She stayed in Rio for another 2 years but ended up moving with her family to Miami, Florida (USA). She then attended and graduated from the University of Miami in 1997; and until 2008 worked as a Social Worker at the Guardian ad Litem Program, in the 11th Judicial Circuit of Miami-Dade County, at the Juvenile Justice Center. In 2008, she became a Legal Assistant at an established South Florida law firm, Shutts & Bowen LLP, where she still works today. She is “a proud parent of a 6 year old, Tyghe”. She is now focused on becoming an integral part of her firms’ International Litigation Practice Group.
She remembers several ex-students and would love to get in touch with them. Friends like: Roberta Wanderley Azevedo, Mariana Conde, Samantha Hughes, Adriana Aguiar (Cotrim), Bruna Clark, Alessandra Orgler, Fernanda Monta, Janaina, Yuri Assis, Tamur, Rodrigo Bianchini, Emil, Robert, Dominique, Paola, … If you would like to get in touch with Tatiana, please contact the school at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you for getting in touch with us, Tatiana, and congratulations on the great life achievements!
In December 2009 we heard from Stephan Arkcoll, who left TBS in 1990, but would have graduated in the Class of 1994.
“I would have finished in 1994 had I remained in Rio. My parents relocated to South Africa in 1990 and I have been living in Cape Town since then. I still have some family in Brazil and tend to come back for visits every couple of years or so. I just wanted to commend you and the team on a great Falcon – in our days we had an annual book which was published and I still have some copies stacked away at my parents’ home. In particular this edition of the Falcon seems to bring back memories after reading Mr. Wiseman’s report on the spirit of the school award. I still remember the days Mr. Wiseman arrived at the school – my favorite teacher! He gave us a slide presentation on Brunei and to the day I still remember what the capital of Brunei is… amazing. In my final year I received a book from Mr. Wiseman - an award for best Geography pupil, an award I have cherished since then. Please send my regards to him – I doubt he remembers who I am – seems like centuries since I was a pupil travelling on a 1 ½ hour bus trip from Barra to Botafogo on a school bus every morning! Keep up the good work!
Julia Fritsch’96 and Rafael got married on Nov 28th 2009 at the “Igreja Nossa Senhora do Bonsucesso” in Rio de Janeiro. Rafael Fritsch’95 and his wife were ‘padrinhos’ and entered the church with their baby son. Laura Fritsch’2010 was also a ‘madrinha’, Gabriel Fritsch’2012 played the violin and Felipe Fritsch’2015 carried the rings.
The beautiful ceremony was followed by a great party at Copacabana Palace. Mr Paul Wiseman, school Director, and several ex-students were present, including Pedro Seiler’96, Alice Franco’96, Kevin Tang’97, Luciana Matsuda’96, Isabel Ribeiro’96, Celina Ribeiro’98, Adriana Nogueira de Andrade’94, Bruna Costa Furtado’96, Clarissa Oliveira’96, Anna Flora Werneck’96, Anna Julia Werneck’96, Roberta Sumares’96, Manuela Sumares’98.
We were all thrilled by the couple’s happiness. All the best to the new family!
